PacMan

I love my old-school games. I remember going to the arcade with my sister and her friends when she was in high school. It was a REAL arcade with wall to wall games. None of that crap they have at Dave & Buster's now. Real arcade games. I remember the quarters set up on the sides of the display to mark your place in line. You didn't have to worry about anyone stealing your quarters either.  I could barely reach the controls so I would pull up a stool to watch them play Pac Man for hours. I miss that place. It turned into a couple of dance halls and then it became a non-denominational church. When I retire I might have to own my own arcade. It'd be worth it to play all the games for free. :-)

Arcade Games

GALAGA!!!!!!!!!!! It's the most awesome game ever!

So, you have to click on the actual play area to move right and left. Use the space bar to fire.

Good news and stuff...

First of all, there has been a Hawk-Girl sighting. I haven't seen her in such a long time I was worried something might have happened to her. Yesterday I received a photo taken by one of our officers who spotted her by the student dorms scouting for squirrels, opossums, rats, raccoons, small students, and various school administrators. She still looks awesome.

The other good news is actually a rumor but I am keeping my fingers crossed. The rumor is that the iPhone 5 will be sold on the Sprint network. I had heard that Sprint would never carry the iPhone so this is exciting news. Of course I have been eyeing the HTC Evo for a while but the price is just way out of my budget. So, I am keeping my HTC Hero as long as it will stay alive. If the iPhone comes out I may be tempted to ask for that for Christmas though. A small part of my heart weeps because I have become assimilated by Apple products. I absolutely love my iPod Touch so the iPhone would be the next best thing. And still I wonder, "Do I really need an iPod Touch and an iPhone? Heck yes I do. Ok, maybe I don't *need* one but I want one. I bet my nephew gets one before I do though and he doesn't even have a job. LOL. Now if I could convince Apple to do it in green....

Not real.
The other good news is my vacation is getting closer! We might get rain this weekend and I didn't have to spend money at the dentist! Woohoo.

Cool stuff

What did I do before the internets??? I have been "stumbling" and "pin(trest)ing" stuff all day long. I came across some cool stuff and thought I would share since I can't seem to figure out the pinterest website and learn how to properly pin stuff.
Captain's Cologne

I don't care how it smells, the bottle is way cool.

Nose Print Necklace

Seriously overpriced but awesome idea. You take a custom imprint of your dog or cat's nose and send it back and they make a custom necklace for you.

                        Kirk vs Gorn
Oh yeah! I love the original Star Trek series.

Magic wallet

Ok, obviously the green ones are my favorite but my friend Matty has one of these and they are awesome! You put the money in one side and do this flippy thing and it magically puts it under the elastic holders.

Zombie Killer Knives

They're green and they kill zombies??? Heck Yeah!

Obol bowl

I don't like soggy stuff. This is awesome for cereal and cookies and stuff. Now they need to make a plate with a bowl attached for syrup when I eat pancakes or waffles.

Flushable Poop Bags

Awesome, now if I could just get them to poop in the bag in the first place.

Dissolving Travel Soaps and stuff

This is the ticket! Now I can fit more clothes in my suitcase...just in case!

Man Cans Candles

I love that this kid invested $100.00 and made a business and donates to a soup kitchen. I absolutely LOVE leather scented candles. I think I'd take any of the scents like dirt, freshly cut grass and sawdust.

Film Reel Bows

This is too cool. I'd keep these forever.

Bubble Wrap Calendar

Who doesn't love this stuff?

Snoopy Snow Cone Machine

I wanted one of these when I was a kid. I am thinking I have upgraded to the Margaritaville "Snow Cone" machine you can find Here

Undie-gloves

Tighty-whities for your hands. Who doesn't need a pair of these????

Sexy Spock Ears

Oh boy, I think I am gonna have to order a few sets of these. Facsinating!

What the heat does...

Let's talk about what the heat does to spoiled A/C loving people like me:

1. It makes me grumpy

2. When I walk up to my truck after work it takes at least 10 minutes to get airflow enough to cool it down just to get into it. The door handles and seat belts are now branding irons.

3. Those flimsy sun screens don't help much.

4. I can now finish a bottle of water in 2.5 seconds.

5. My eyeballs burn the entire ride home. Its like the fluid inside my eyes is boiling.

6. Heat rash in places your momma told you not to talk about.

I should try this stuff.

7. The dogs think it's cruel and unusual that you would send them out in the blazing sun to potty.

8. Your phone gets so hot it might burn your face during a conversation.

I don't own an iPhone but I wish mine had this warning.

9. You develope a case of swamp foot just walking to the mailbox.

10. Hot water comes out of both sides of the faucet.

Hey God! If you're listening, it's gettin kinda hot down here. The Devil went back down to hell to cool off.

When I should have been sleeping...

Yesterday I was supposed to get to bed early and catch up on some sleep. As I was making my way there and tucking in the pups for the night, Suzy was sleeping in the cutest position. I couldn't resist taking out my camera and getting a few of her and Bella who was being her sweet innocent self.

I am thankful...

I am really thankful that the apes haven't taken over the planet.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes was pretty good but a true emotional rollercoaster. I probably hurt Russel's hand a few times or maybe through the whole movie. Sorry!

I found the most creepiest thing were the CG eyes on the main character Caesar. This was the best use of CG I have seen in a long time.  Lets just hope the Fraggles and Princess Dinah don't get ahold of the brain serum from the movie or we are all in big trouble.

The best part of the movie, I don't think PETA will be in business anymore. In fact they might have to change to PETP (People for the Ethical Treatment of People) hahaha. I am all for animal rights but not when your tactics turn crazy.

By the way PETA....I had the best sesame shrimp before the movie. It tasted better than tofu.

Captain America

Yay! I finally had time to see Captain America last night. My final analysis: It was better than the 80's version.

Now for the bad: There was a montage midway through the movie that I wasn't too terribly crazy about. The music was pretty generic and I was a little disappointed in the "small Steve" computer graphics. Just because you can do CG...doesn't always mean you should.

And the good stuff: The shields were awesome. The scenes of Cap punching a look-a-like Hitler were great. Then showing the original Captain America comic book (reproductions I'm sure) was a nice touch. Peggy Carter was a strong and able woman instead of just some chick. The transition from the 1940's to modern time was done pretty well. I liked the way they kept Steve Roger's integrity throughout the film. His heart is always in the right place and he represented the United States with vallor.

I can't wait to see The Avengers. It's going to be great with Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, The Black Widow, Hawkeye, The Incredible Hulk, and Nick Fury.

I enjoyed the movie and I think I will see it again when it comes out on Blu-Ray. Thank you Russel I enjoyed being there with you.

Doggie-sitting

As some of you know I housesit/dogsit/catsit/etc. on the side for extra money. This past week I was in Elgin doggiesitting my regular clients Rio, Sare and Elfie (Beagle), Aspen (who was spending the week at the doggie kennel) and the fishies. I was kind of looking foward to the awesome pool and a quiet house. Well, the air conditioner went out Friday. It was no one's fault and the home owners promptly called the technician to have it fixed. I was doing double duty checking on another co-worker's kitties so I figured I would run into Austin and check on them and be back in time for the technician to arrive at approximately 6pm. I returned an hour early at 5pm and there was a business card on the door. I had missed them. It was getting to be about 105 degrees so it was going to be difficult to be without A/C. After calling a few people I finally got the technician out there about 7pm. He temporarily fixed it so I could be comfortable.

This time around the doggies were bad barking doggies. Not sure why. Maybe because Aspen was missing from the pack. So, after very little sleep and a hot day in there I did manage to get some good pictures of the pups.
